6hr Emergency Paediatric first Aid (FAIB Approved)

This course is for people working and or caring for babies and young children.

What they will learn

Understand the role of the emergency paediatric first aider. First Aid procedures relevant to the care of babies and young children. A mixture of theory and practical elements will be included in your course.

Course content:

managing an incident / priorities of first aid / child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) / defibrillation / treatment of choking child and infant / treatment of unconscious casualty including seizure / treatment of wounds and bleeding / treatment for shock

Course Duration

  • 6 hours

Assessment

  • Continuous assessment by trainer

Certificate

An FAIB approved certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful completion of the course.

To meet the requirements of Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register, at least one person who has a current full 12hr paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises and available at all times when children are present, and must accompany children on outings. Childminders, and any assistant who might be in sole charge of the children for any period of time, must hold a current full 12hr paediatric first aid certificate.
