2 Day First Aid at Work Re-qualification (FAIB Approved)
This course refreshes and updates the First Aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work (statutory) certificate and whose existing certificate is still valid. If your First Aid at Work certificate has expired you have 28 days from the date of expiry to renew your certificate, after this period you will need to attend a full 3 Day First Aid at Work Course . Please note that we will need proof of your current expiry date by providing us with a copy of your existing FAW certificate. This course is approved by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB).
Course content: first aid equipment & accident reporting / how to prevent cross infection / managing an incident / priorities of first aid / adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) / child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (optional) / defibrillation / treatment of choking adult (child and infant optional) / treatment of unconscious casualty including seizure / treatment of wounds and bleeding / treatment for shock / treatment for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes, splinters and bruises) / recognition and treatment of heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, diabetes & asthma / chest injuries / eye injuries / burns and scalds / poisoning / anaphylaxis / dealing with injuries to bones, muscles & joints / dealing with head & suspected spinal injuries
Assessment: Continuous assessment by trainer & multiple choice questions
Certificate: A First Rescue certificate, valid for three years, is issued on successful completion of the course. This course is approved by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB)
This course can be delivered onsite at your premises or Open/Public training courses are ideal for individuals or companies who can only release a small number of staff at one time.
